Est and I were in the library cramming our asses away the whole day!
We were kind of in a bipolar frenzy, swaying from major depression (along the lines of wallowing in 'whyyyy whyyyy do we have to study!') and elated mania (laughing like mad abt... err, nth really, just laughing).
And I taught her how to say 'KNNBCCB'. She manages to say it in a damn 'wen rou' and ladylike way. It totally doesn't sound like bad words at all! Amazing!!!! Ok yeah we were laughing about stuff like that.
You know it's the exam period when these weird bouts of emotions appear.
Exams... -.-
Some new long words i'm still getting a hang of: hypochondriasis, dysthymic, cyclothymic, dissociative identity disorder, dissociative fugue, benzodiazepine, catatonic, histrionic, neuroleptics
(isn't it fun to pronounce them!!?)
Did you know? :
1) we always (well, i did) assume that when we dream, we don't get enough sleep cause we think we don't fall into deep sleep. However, contrary to this belief, it is when we dream that we fall into REM sleep - the deepest stage of sleep we fall into. Also known as Rapid Eye Movement. So when we dream, it's when we get the deepest sleep and also when we get the most rest!
Conclusion: So now we know... next time, we won't go around saying stupid things like 'aiyo, you dreamt ah? like that not enough sleep leh!'
2) we always refer to schizophrenics as having 'split personality' but schizophrenics do not have multiple personalities! Schizophrenics are people whose thoughts and feelings are split. They do not have multiple personalities, but have disorganized thoughts, delusions and loose associations! Split personalities, on the other hand, are known as Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly known as multiple personalities).
Conclusion: So now we know... next time, instead of calling people 'schizo' (sometimes I call my friends that when they are a bit out of whack), we can go 'omg! you dissociative identity disorder person!' - if you bother to say the whole damn thing out.
Ok, I found them so enlightening! And I have a lot of information in my head now. Let's just hope all the information stays intact and I don't get dissociative amnesia or conversion disorder or something!
Notice how I'm only regurgitating psych... I AM SO UNPREPARED FOR GEOG. Why why whyyyy do I have to have 2 major papers on the same day.
